Dave grew up in the mean streets of Gary, Indiana where there was violence and gangs all around. He used sports as a way to stay out of the street life which was claiming so many of his peers via jail or the grave yard. Dave had great mentors in his life that replaced the Dad he was missing who past away when he was very young.

Dave has over 20 years of mentor-ship experience working with programs from Illinois to Washington state. “The mentor-ship that was provided to me motivated me to give back that which was given to me and assisted me into becoming the man I am today.” Dave has mentored many students assisting them to achieve their goals of attending 4 year universities, community colleges, military service academies, tech-schools, and/or getting immediately into the workforce.
Many of the students Dave has mentored have come back to guest speak or to coach in hopes of giving back what he has given to them. “Those are the priceless moments, to see the positive impact you have made in someone’s life and they look to duplicate it.” Dave lives by a slogan from a young man he mentored who passed away, “Forward progress!” “That is my goal in life no matter what I do just to continue progressing forward in a positive way”. Dave loves to mentor and help people achieve whatever they desire to seek out.
Dave is married to Sheila Fowler with 3 sons ages 24, 19, and 17.
Reason for joining SforS: “What made me want to be apart of Showtime For Stars is the energy and passion Reggie Jones puts into wanting to be in the lives of today’s youth. He pushes them to strive for their dreams and walks with them to achieve it.”
